To get your Italian manufacturer’s invoice manually stamped, you must show the officer:
  • Your original Italian invoice (which must clearly state your non-EU residential address, passport number, and the separate VAT amount).
  • Your passport proving non-EU residency.
  • Your flight ticket/boarding pass proving you are flying to a non-EU destination.
  • The unused, brand-new merchandise in its original packaging

Once the Toulouse Customs officer physically stamps your original paper invoice, Customs’ job is complete. The French airport will not give you any cash or process a digital payment for an independent manufacturer. 
You must photograph or scan the stamped invoice and email/mail it back directly to your Italian manufacturer. They will use that physical stamp as legal proof of export to safely credit the VAT back to your credit card or bank account.
